Word meaning change over time. What used to be a good word now becomes bad as a product of language meaning shift. Similarly, some words with originally negative implication have now turned upside down and are given good meaning like the word nice. Sociolinguistics is such an interesting subject.
During the last centuries names like Daft, Balls, Shufflebottom, Cock among others were not considered funny as they are today. According to Yahoo News , names like the above mentioned are decreasing in number either by migration or simply changing their names according to Webber, the author of the study. On the contrary, names like Zhang, Wang, and Yang are increasing by the thousands between 1996 and 2008 as the author researched.
So, what does it mean really? Are people changing names or switching places? Maybe in the next millenium Asians will be inhabiting the Europe and the US and vice versa. Oh, well, I’m just thinking out loud, you see?

LOL, I think this is a rather late reaction. Well, I have not been visiting my friendster blog for such a long time so I am not up to date about it. But I did notice a few months back that my theme was change. This time though, Friendster lets its users play around their blog like changing themes and adding widgets. The good thing is that it’s not bombarded with ads exactly like wordpress blog for free users are. They look neat and clean.
But, since it’s a wordpress powered blog, you can’t add your own ads whatsoever. The only thing that confuses me until today is that whenever I try to put some codes like twitter apps or any gadget not necessarily ad-related it doesn’t work out. The code disappears even after you saved it. It’s so disappointing. Why the h–l did they have to put it there if it’s no use anyway?
Somehow, as a Blogger user, I feel a tad jealous over the popularity of wordpress. More bloggers especially professional ones prefer WP over B but as a noobie on this technology, I am sticking with the latter because everything is at my fingertips like adsense, gadgets, and the likes.

A BMW driver and owner, Robert Jones, almost fell into a 100 ft. cliff all because he depended so much on his satnav. How stupid can one get? I mean even if the satnav was telling him it that the cliff was a road but haven’t he got eyes?Has he got no sense anymore? Blaming the brainless satnav was rather bemusing as well.
This is not the first time an accident occured because the drivers believed their faulty satnavs. A couple of weeks ago I read another news with a similar headline. A truck rammed into a house because he entered in a deadend road and there was not enough space for him to u-turn.
Well, satnavs are not all that bad. My brother drives around the states and he was able to find our lone relatives guided by his “Magellan”. And I thought these gadgets are amazing. But we can’t really rely on them 101% at all times can we? We still have to use our most common senses and let our minds function!

Right now, this very minute, I am sitting here in disbelief. I have been working my ass off for the past couple of hours tweaking my blog and submitting sitemaps to google and finally it says that googlebot has successfuly accessed my homepage. So I searched for my blog on google and true enough it has already been indexed by google although there are only 3 blogpost and it’s only about three weeks old. But the best thing that ever happened is I found my first Ezine article on top of a google search result. I am absolutely stunned. I never really expected to achieve it so soon. My article on Ezine just went live two weeks ago and now it’s got top google search result.I have a couple of names to thank for their very helpful tips. One is Ewen Chia who is giving out free ebooks. One of them is about how to get google index your site in a couple of days or hours even. And I have just proven it true.
