I went to see another doctor today regarding my swelling fingers and was told I got a chilblain. A what? ”A chilblain, it is very common in this country because of the weather. You don’t get them in the Philippines.” “Oh, I see.”

I think it makes more sense contrary to what the first doctor told me last Sunday where I had to wait for two hours to be given the wrong diagnosis.

As the doctor gave more information about this condition, my thoughts went back as to when and how I got it. During the first week of December, we were carrying bottles in the factory. They were cold and made my fingers freeze. During break time I went to wash my hand with hot water and immediately I felt tingling sensation all over my fingers. They felt very itchy and I thought it was the water. As it turns out, I got this abnormal reaction to cold weather because of the way I rewarmed my hands.

However, the swelling didn’t start until after Christmas and I even thought I took it from the gym where we share equipments with other people.

 Well, it’s really interesting but I was getting paranoid at first because my fingers are swelling one by one. The worse thing is that there is no known cure but it will go away by itself. But I’m wandering how long it will stay.
